Liquid TD 3.1

Liquid TDThis version of Liquid Tower Defense is designed for Reign of Chaos, although it also seems to work well with the Frozen Throne expansion. Liquid Tower Defense is a game for 2-9 players (you can try playing it with only 1 player, but I sure didn't get far on my own...). Everyone is on the same team, and the goal is to survive all waves of creeps. The team has 30 lives. There are 5 races available, each with different strengths. In addition, there are also "lottery towers" which don't do a lot of damage, but reward you with a lot of gold when they get the killing blow on a creep. It's important to begin building right away, as towers take some time to build. You get gold at a basic rate, as well as gold for killing creeps.

The final player (grey) gets extra gold since they're the one at the end and in a large game (9 players), they may not see much action. However, their position is important, since all creeps that don't die will travel to their area last before leaking.

Spawns travel from the top left and bottom left towards the right side where they start to meet up towards the middle and travel back again towards the left. It sounds complicated, but it's really quite simple.

The gameplay is very similar to the frozen throne version, with a few major variations. First of all, there are 5 races instead of 4. The scoreboard ranks by total kills, but frantically juggles the names of players who have the same number of kills (this is very noticable at the beginning of the game). This version also allows the host to "kick" players who become annoying, which brings that players gold to 0 and destroys their existing towers. An oddity in this version is that there are a lot of references to version 3.0, even though the map claims to be v3.1. In many ways, this ROC version is superior to it's TFT counterpart.

Liquid tower defence is a pretty fun map, and certainly worth a try with friends. It's not extremely difficult to beat, but is rather fun and can still present a challenge.
