Canada Risk Teams

Canada Risk TeamsCanada Risk Teams is very similar to Risk Revolution. It can be played by anywhere from 2-12 players, with up to 2 players per team. Canada Risk is compatible with Reign of Chaos (it also works with Frozen Throne).

In Canada Risk, you do not roll dice, and you do not have to take turns attacking. The map is split up into the provinces of Canada, with bases in each province. If you control all the bases in a province, your income increases.

The game begins with each base being randomly assigned to a different player. Each player is given a small amount of gold with which to build units for the first turn. There are game hints that pop up during turns which can be helpful. You are free to build and move units whenever you want. When fighting, you can micro-manage your units as well if. It's all done in Real-Time.

One large difference between Canada Risk and Risk Revolution is that in Canada Risk there are no boats, and no healing units available. Canada Risk games are usually much shorter as well, as the map isn't as vast. Not a bad game, but probably one that will only appeal to Canadians.

Canada Risk Teams has good short-term playability, and would be excellent as a beginner's risk game, as it's not terribly complex. It's one of the few maps that could be considered to be an educationl game.
