Q: What types of maps are on this site?
A: All maps on this site are for Warcraft 3. Most of them will only work if the expansion is installed (Frozen Throne). If you do not have the expansion installed, you will only be able to use maps in the "Reign of Chaos" category.

Q: Are the maps really free to download?
A: Yes, they are 100% free. There is nothing you have to install, and nowhere to sign up. Just find the map you're looking for and you're good to go!

Q: Who is this site geared towards?
A: This site is geared towards those who want a decent selection of good, popular, fun maps. There are other map sites out there, but many don't stay updated, or depend on users for updates. Others offer hundreds upon hundreds of maps, but realistically, most people are only looking to download a few. Offering hundreds means that users have to spend a lot of time sifting through many maps before finding one that meets their needs. This site tries to offer a wide variety of good maps, but not so many that it becomes a chore to search for a good map.

Q: The map I downloaded isn't working, why?
A: This could be a number of reasons. Make sure you've downloaded the map to your Warcraft III maps folder (usually C:\Program Files\Warcraft III\Maps\Download). The file name should end in .w3m or .w3x . Note that the Frozen Throne expasion is required for most custom maps. If you do not have the expansion installed, you will be limited to maps from the Reign of Chaos category.

Q: Why are some files so huge, and some so small? Are the large ones better?
A: Don't pay too much attention to file size when choosing a map. A large file size generally only means that extra pictures, sounds, or character maps were added. It has nothing to do with the gameplay or "fun" factor, although these extras often enhance the experience.

Q: Where did you get all these maps?
A: Most maps were simply obtained over Battle.net.

A: No thanks. I actually already have a massive collection. Many games simply fall in the poor-mediocre category, and I simply don't have any interest in putting them on the site. However, if there is a game or 2 in your map pack that you think is fantastic, definitely feel free to send me the 1 or 2 games :)
